I'm selling a set of Fred Morrison mouthblown reelpipes in excellent playing condition. These now retail new for £1595 - so grab yourself a great price. The pipes play nicely and blend perfectly in groups. They tune bang on A440. The bag is a gortex Canmore zipped and the pipes have a complete moisture control sysem for the drones and chanter. The ferrules are engraved with the "thistle pattern" - making for a very pretty instrument. The sound is mellow - but with a great "crack" from the chanter when fingered crisply. The chanter is chromatic - opening up lots of possibilites beyond the normal GHB repertoire. The pipes can also simply be treated as better housetrained Highland pipes for those who won't be lured into the temptations of "false fingering". The drones are a bass and tenor A with an alto E giving a lovely chordal backdrop and great harmonics with the chanter. The drones have a drone switch for clean and howl free starts. The pipes come complete with a soft case and a spare chanter reed. You can try the pipes in Peebles if you're nearby on a Saturday or Sunday. You won't be disappointed.
